Congrats! If you’re reading this post, you’re likely a new car owner looking for information on what your first year of car ownership looks like. Or, perhaps you’re thinking of purchasing a new vehicle and would like to know what you can expect in your first year of car ownership. Well, we’ve got your back. Below, we break down what you can expect in the first year behind the wheel of a new car.

It’s all about regular maintenance

Luckily, the first six months is no sweat! The first few months of car ownership is all about the routine services that keep your vehicle in tip top shape. Keeping up with the routine services helps to keep your car running at its best and sets you up for successful car ownership.

In the first six months, you can expect a simple oil change and a tire rotation. Typically, we’d suggest getting this done in the first 8000 km or six months – whichever comes first for you high-mileage drivers. Right before your car-aversary, we suggest a tire rotation, oil change, and brake fluid flush. Car owners can expect to have this service done at either 12 months or 16,000 km (again, whichever comes first).

We promised, no sweat! That said, leave car maintenance to trained professionals!
